Hi! My name is Kim and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. My journey with the piano began at age 4 when my parents discovered I could play any song by ear and enrolled me in lessons. That early spark grew into a life long passion for playing and teaching music for the last 20 years. I work with students of all ages and levels in schools, conservatories, camps and my private studio.
My greatest joy is helping students find a confidence and passion for playing through developing their skills. I keep my own passion for music alive playing in jazz quartets, chamber groups, church services and private events. Outside of music, I love being in nature and spending time with friends and family.
My teaching style is eclectic and adapted to the learning style of each student Whether you are a beginner or returning to piano after years away, I’d love to help you discover the joy of playing.
Your Piano Lesson Journey
Private and group lessons are offered both online and in person
Group Lessons
This format is ideal for beginners of similar age and level, meeting weekly for 45 minutes in small groups of 4-6 to learn the basics of piano playing. At this early stage, group learning keeps students engaged through interactive activities and having the chance to perform for each other. We will start playing songs using finger numbers during our first class and progress at a steady pace each week. Material covered varies by age group. This is a great way to test interest level and develop skills at lower cost of commitment.
