Meet Kim

Hi! My name is Kim, and I live in Atlanta, Georgia. My journey with the piano began at age 4, when my parents discovered I could play any song by ear and enrolled me in lessons. That early spark grew into a lifelong passion for playing and teaching music over the past 20 years. I work with students of all ages and levels in schools, conservatories, camps, and my private studio.

My greatest joy is helping students build confidence and discover a passion for playing through strong, encouraging instruction. I keep my own love for music alive by playing in jazz quartets, chamber groups, church services, and private events. Outside of music, I love being in nature and spending time with friends and family.

My teaching style is eclectic and adapted to each student's learning style. Whether you are a beginner or returning to piano after years away, I'd love to help you discover the joy of playing.

Group Lessons

This format is ideal for beginners of similar age and level, meeting weekly for 45 minutes in small groups of 4-6 to learn the basics of piano playing. At this early stage, group learning keeps students engaged through interactive activities and having the chance to perform for each other. We will start playing songs using finger numbers during our first class and progress at a steady pace each week. Material covered varies by age group. This is a great way to test interest level and develop skills at lower cost of commitment.

Private Lessons

Private lessons offer focused, one-on-one instruction tailored to each student's goals, experience, and learning pace. Meeting weekly, students receive personalized guidance in technique, music reading, rhythm, and performance skills while exploring music that keeps them motivated. This format is especially helpful for continuing students who want to make steady progress, prepare for performances, or work through specific challenges, and it is also available for dedicated beginners ready for an individualized approach.
